Our Mississippi Branch opened for business on January 17, 2014. Nestled in the distinctive, urban neighborhood of Portland’s North Mississippi Avenue and surrounding Boise-Eliot community, our branch is the first and only financial institution in this vibrant and eclectic area.
The full-service branch incorporates reclaimed wood accents from the neighborhood Rebuilding Center, and offers: business and consumer banking services, a vestibule with 24-7 access to ATM amenities, a night drop where merchants can deposit their daily cash, checks, and credit card slips outside of banking hours, a Little Free Library, and a community calendar which will list current neighborhood events.
The combination of creativity, style, and energy is prevalent amongst Mississippi Avenue and the Boise area. The businesses are locally owned and operated and consist of charming boutiques, farm-to-fork Portland restaurants, music studios and venues, and local cafes that ooze NW warmth, and are each individually representative of the thriving Portland character. With the casual presence of continuous bike and foot-traffic, Mississippi has just about everything the average urbanite could ever want for, including Trailhead Credit Union!

Branch Manager
Meet Danielle! Self-described as opinionated, energetic, and strong, Danielle lives by the quote, “you will never lead more than you are willing to take responsibility for.” She has been married to her high school sweetheart for 24 years. In addition to sharing three grown children and a grandson (with another on the way!), they also have three dogs, five parrots, and two turtles. She treasures the crisp mornings and changing colors of fall, dreams of traveling to Italy and Spain, enjoys true crime books from Ann Rule, and loves the uniqueness of Portland.

Tom Nestlen
Member Service Officer
Anyone who knows Tom, knows that he loves his jokes and his puns. He plays soccer, is a musician, and gets down on listening to NPR & George Noory, Coast to Coast. When asked what he likes most about serving our members, Tom reflects that, “I like helping them with their financial needs and setting them up for a successful future. It is a nice feeling when someone comes back and lets me know their credit has increased and now they are in a position to be able to obtain a loan for a new car, boat, home, etc. I like to be part of that success story.” Tom would love to travel to Spain or New Zeeland, and likes to frequent restaurants, Thai Ginger or EL Burrito Azteca in PDX.
